Resul Pookutty, the brilliant sound technician, who won an Oscar for his work on Slumdog Millionaire, has now been invited to be a voting member of the Academy of Motion Pictures.
Pookutty is one among the 134 privileged artists who have received an invitation to join the Oscar roster of voting. Some of the other big names who are part of this elite group include Hollywood legends such as Will Smith, Jack Nicholson, Quentin Tarantino apart from Indians such as Mira Nair and A.R.Rahman.
Resul is obviously elated at this honour and hopes that this membership will help him find a stronger foothold in Hollywood.
